Cox Creek Meadows, home of Triple C Stables, a hunter-jumper equestrian center near Guelph, ON opens incorporating many environmentally friendly initiatives including LED lighting in the stable and indoor riding arena!

  • First LED lit agricultural building in Canada!? Original bank barn stable and indoor riding arena feature LED lighting boasting significant reduction in electrical draw and long-life. Who said LED's aren't developed enough for agricultural applications!?
  • Complete stables feature in-floor radiant heating generated by an Energy Star efficient propane boiler. In-floor slab is insulated with recycled "door cut-out" insulation panels.
  • Stall matting mattresses feature recycled rubber crumb.
  • Wash bay features the Ani-Vac equine washing system that features a reduction of 90% in water usage.
  • Indoor arena features a unique footing blend that requires no watering.
  • Horse sealed with an environmentally friendly acrylic epoxy protection.
  • Arena features extensive side light panels and operation panels to optimize natural lighting and natural ventilation.

July 2009

Completion extensive renovations, restoration and an addition of century stone home near Guelph, ON after incorporating many green concepts.

  • Home insulated to superior levels complete walls, ceilings utilized a Soya based spray urethane.
  • Home heated on a geo-thermal heat pump c/w programmable thermostat.
  • In-floor heating system to concrete slabs (basement; century) with recycled "door cut-out" insulation panels and additional foil membrane that provides a radiant barrier protection, radon gas protection and vapour barrier.
  • Hot water generated utilizing warm water attained from geo-thermal system and a high-efficiency propane Combi-Core hot water tank, which additionally provides hot water via the in-floor heat.
  • Features high-output LED pot lights.
  • Energy Star windows with triple Low-E and Argon gas.
  • Energy Star appliances.
  • Material choices utilizing natural products, such as recycled fieldstone fireplace; travertine stone flooring; natural slate flooring; etc.

  • 6,000 sq.ft. fruit market featuring straw bale construction rated at R-60 insulation value
  • Geo-thermal heat pump c/w ground loops

January 2009

Indoor riding arena just outside Newmarket, ON features extensive natural ventilation.

  • Complete sidewalls and one end wall feature 48" operating panels that provide maximum ventilation to arena. The panels can be lowered opening the majority of the building perimeter 4 feet for natural air flow.

September 2008

A covered manure compost bin storage at VanBrook Equestrian, Milton, ON is designed and constructed to capture heat generated for use in radiant floor heating in the stable.

  • 55 stall hunter-jumper boarding facility features 4 manure storage bins.
  • Each bin has a separate in-slab loop that when attaining significant tempuratures from the compost action will circulate and exchange the heat via the radiant floor heating in the tackroom; office; and upper viewing lounge.

February 2008

Post Farm Structures Inc. joins the Canadian International Farm Show in erecting on the show site its first "Dream Green Barn" under construction!

  • Structural Insulated wall panels for minimum heat loss and efficiency
